House candidate Hans Erickson to visit Jefferson May 17

A kickoff event for Hans Erickson, who is running for the Iowa House of Representatives from Boone and Greene Counties, will be held Thursday, May 15, from 5:45 to 7 pm at Snus Hill Winery 2183 320th St, Madrid.

Erickson will meet and greet Greene County voters Saturday, May 17, beginning at 10 am at Greene Bean Coffee, 202 N. Wilson, in Jefferson.

Hans Erickson was born in Boone and grew up there. After he graduated from Boone High school he went on to Drake University where he studied history and was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. While he was at Drake he was the legal intern in Governor Culver’s office and interned in the Iowa Senate Research Staff. Erickson went back to Drake for a master’s in public administration and will graduate in 2014.

While he was working on his master’s he clerked for State Senator Daryl Beall of Fort Dodge, who formerly represented Greene County.

Upon graduation, Erickson entered the insurance industry and currently brokers life insurance and annuities.

Erickson plays trombone in the Boone Municipal Band and is a member of the Boone United Methodist Church. His parents, Ted and Beth Erickson, are retired teachers from Boone Community Schools.
